Jim's Review
🐛
This book knocked Jim flat. Wilkerson spent fifteen years interviewing over a thousand people to tell this story, and it shows on every page. The three personal narratives she follows are so vivid and intimate that Jim felt like he was riding in the car with them as they fled north. It's the kind of history that should be required reading — epic in scope but deeply human in every detail. Five worms, no hesitation.
